The coconut meat is dried and defatted, finely ground into a powder very similar in consistency to wheat flour. It contains more dietary fiber than wheat which is 58%, whereas wheat contains 27% only. Other contents of coconut flour are 14 coconut oil, 28% water, protein and carbohydrates.

Coconut flour can be used to make breads, cakes, pies and other baked goods. It can be used in combination with wheat flour for standard recipes since it lacks gluten and it is highly absorbent. On the other hand, there are already various recipes available using coconut flour completely on its own delightfully made by manufacturers, researchers and health-conscious individuals because of its high-fiber content.

It is also great as an add-on to cereals, yogurts, shakes, smoothies, dips or to thicken gravies, sauces and soups. It can be sprinkled as well over any dishes to create a tasteful coconut flavor. Or just dissolve a spoonful in water to make a high-fiber drink!
